· Born in Martina Franca (TA) 23rd March 1947.

· Graduated in Medicine and Surgery with the maximum of marks and honours 18/07/1971.

· Diploma of Specialization in Clinical Ophthalmology 10/07/1975 with honours.

· Qualified to the exercise of the medical profession in 1971.

· Medical internship at the Institute of Ophthalmology of Siena from the 29/11/1971 to the 31/12/1972.

· Fellow from the 01/01/1973 to the 31/12/1974 at the Institute of Ophthalmology of Siena.

· Holder at the University of Siena contract from the 31/12/1974 to the 21/10/1981.

· University researcher from the 22/10/1981 to the 20/01/1985.

· Associate university professor discipline "Ottica Fisiopatologica" at the faculty of Medicine of the University of Siena from the 21/01/1985 for the legal purposes and from the 08/09/1992 for the economic purposes.

· He has been reconfirmed associate University professor on the 10/12/1996 in “Discipline F14X”.

· The research activity is testified by 400 published manuscripts in the period 1975-2005

· The surgical activity at the 3/07/2009 is made of 23.131 operations.

· For the didactic activity he is Teacher and President at the Special School for Ortophtic Assistants of Ophthalmology.
